Sunday Roast

On this cold Sunday, I have been thinking about something warming.  Not only thinking, also wishing that it would just materialize in front of me without any effort on my part. Just like it happened last year when I visited my friends Barış and Gökçe in Brighton, UK.

Sunday roast is, well, a Sunday thing in Brighton. Barış called his favorite pub, Earth and Stars, in the morning and placed our orders. We arrived early afternoon and a dark lamb roast enriched with layers of flavors was in front of me in a matter of minutes. If there is no pub to call to place an order, I guess I will have to roast my favorite piece of meat, mash a starchy root vegetable, wilt or steam some bright colored vegetables and top it with Yorkshire pudding. Then pair with a good beer . What makes it tasty though, just like any meal, is being absorbed in a good conversation with life-long friends.  It does sound like a perfect Sunday thing to do.

Yummmm ….. the Sunday Roast meal looks delicious. My daughter has been living in Brighton for 2 years now and yes Brighton has those Sunday Roasts. She goes almost every Sunday for those roasts….she will miss them as this is her last semester at Sussex.
She also found some Turkish restaurants that she went to quite often in Brighton….and said the food tasted like she was in Izmir.

The space is rustic. I like it! Moreover, the food looks delicious! Great!
